Fly to the top filming locations in 3D: Check out our 'Hawaii Five-0' Scene Spotting page >

A murderous cartel hijacks a busload of kids to coerce the Five-0 team to hand over $10 million in cocaine they nabbed in a sting operation, just so it could be destroyed and the jailed cartel head freed for lack of evidence. (Photo: Norman Shapiro/CBS.)

No worries, all ends well. The cartel head stays put, the bad guys perish and Five-0 rescues everybody. But we're left with the disquieting notion that Cmdr. White may not be on the up-and-up as "Shelbourne" resurfaces.

As for the filming locations:

  • The bus was driving all over: along the H3 Freeway, Windward Oahu, Haleiwa.
  • The governor's presser is at Honolulu Harbor, with a quick shot of Aloha Tower.
  • We see the Arizona Memorial and Battleship Missouri before stopping at Pearl Harbor Naval Base HQ. Cmdr. White is formally retired for extracting McGarrett from North Korea.
  • Quick shot of Waikiki and the Mokulua Islands.
  • The school is the Le Jardin Academy in Kailua.
  • The Five-0 team chases the trucks around the fields of Waialua on the North Shore.
  • Aliiolani Hale, aka Five-0 headquarters.
  • Overhead of Oahu Community Correctional Facility (not Halawa), but the inside/outside scenes were filmed at the old Advertiser building (which also plays the police asset forfeiture locker later in the show).
  • The downtown post office building is where we reconnect with Hiro Noshimuri — and Cmdr. White grabs him at gunpoint.
  • The drug drop off point might be Waialua again, rather than Waianae as stated.
  • They find the kids and have the final shootout at the Kapaa Quarry outside of Kailua.
  • Quick shot of the Mokulua Islands and Waimanalo at sunrise.
  • McGarrett meets White towards the top of Tantalus above Papakolea.

Looking forward: Now that this mysterious "Shelbourne" returns, who to believe? White, who is leading on McGarrett (unknown whether it's for good or ill). Nishimuri, who says Wo Fat is afraid of "Shelbourne" — and Wo Fat "fears no one." The story arc continues, we'll see where it goes.

The Quotable Danno

  • "I don't have anything. I have a blinky red dot. If you see anything blinky and red, pull it over." — to McGarrett regarding their tracking system.
  • "Not unless he's wearing a Willie Nelson costume." — to McGarrett when he thinks they've spotted their quarry and asks, Is that him?
  • "We're going to start up with that again, huh?" — when McGarrett says "Book 'em, Danno."

The Clip

Had to select the truck chase on account of it captured back-to-back Danno quips.
