'Hawaii Five-0' Sneak Peek: Bus-napped!

Friday, December 02, 2011

After taking a week off (they deserved the break after that epic face-off with Wo Fat in "North Korea"), we return with what appears to be a story ripped from the headlines... from 1976.

The Plot: McGarrett and the Five-0 team searches for a busload of kidnapped school children as well as the people responsible. (Photo: CBS)

From that and the video clip, looks like the writers were drawing inspiration from the infamous 1976 school bus heist in Chowchilla, Calif., complete with van burial in a quarry. An early look at the Scene Spotting reveals... well, not much:

  • Helicopter fly-over of Kaneohe Bay.
  • Looks generally like there are a lot of Windward Oahu scenes: lush green backgrounds. Probably a return to Kualoa Ranch, one of the regular filming locations.
  • There's the Kapaa Quarry on the Windward side — that may be where they filmed the bulldozer burial scene.

More will be revealed on Monday. You can, as always, fly to all the top locations from Season 1 (updating with Season 2) on our "Hawaii Five-0" page on 3DHawaii.com. See you next week!
