Danno's a dog man! Not a surprise, really, but the show should have given Danno a dog long ago, if only for the excellent cargument with McGarrett.

This week, the unit investigates the mysterious murder of a federal agent who died in a light plane crash in the ocean... except she was dead before she hit the water. (Photo: CBS.)

Here's where they filmed:

• We start with surfing on the North Shore, looks to be near Pupukea. Fantastic surfing footage... though not really big enough for tow-in, can see it was needed for the crash scen — you always want a jet ski when a Cessna is bearing down on you in the Pacific.
• Quick shots of Waikiki and the Ala Wai canal.
• The plane crash may have been set on the North Shore, but the filming is on the Leeward Coast, at the Waianae Boat Harbor. Distinctive mountains.
• Quick shots of Kahala and Honolulu.
• Five-0 headquarters, known in real life as Aliiolani Hale.
• Lookin' good, Diamond Head!
• A quick shot of Bellows Beach creeping up on the Mokulua Islands.
• The Board of Water Supply on Beretania Street, filling in for the coroner's office.
• Quick shots of the Rainbow Tower at Hilton Hawaian Village, the Royal Hawaiian beachfront and the Waikiki Beach coastline.
• Epic foot chase through Chinatown!
• Nice overhead shot of Punchbowl.
• The raid on the flower-shop-cum-exotic-animal-poachers was the old Advertiser building.
• We visit Kamekona at his shrimp truck at Duke's Lagoon, Hilton Hawaiian Village.
• There's a Chinese tea and herb shop on Pauahi Street in Chinatown — looks like that's where they went to find Dr. Yang, a purveyor of black market supplements.
• Kamehameha Highway on the Windward side — love those side-by-side helicopter shots.
• Gorgeous cloud-topped mountain shot of Honolulu from what looked like St. Louis Heights.
