'Hawaii Five-0' finale: The preview, the parties

McGarrett going rogue? Chin Ho arresting McGarrett? No more Five-0?

Get ready for cliffhanger drama on the season finale of "Hawaii Five-0" on Monday, with Wo Fat's diabolical grip closing in on McGarrett and the unit, and  the governor's public safety liaison Laura Hills (local actress Kelly Hu) getting caught in the middle. (Ouch.)

I suspect the series will somehow keep our favorite Hawaii-based crime-fighting unit intact, and its arch nemesis beyond the clutches of justice, but certainly some plot lines will dangle to lure us back for Season 2. (Not that we were going anywhere. And not that CBS has officially announced Season 2, but I can't imagine they're looking to discontinue their next billion-dollar franchise.)

As far as locales? The mainstays of Iolani Palace and Aliiolani Hale representing the Five-0 headquarters area. And it looks like McGarrett meets Kamekona secretly up on Round Top Drive on the Papakolea side — maybe, hard to tell. Stay tuned for more next week.

Are you in Honolulu and want to gather with other Five-0 fanatics? Local entertainment website The Pulse is hosting a viewing party at Apartment3 from 7-11 p.m. Food and drink specials until 10 p.m. (plus happy hour for the first hour), and giveaways along with the airing of the finale at 9 p.m.

Party at home

If you're not in Hawaii, you can celebrate next Monday by mixing yourself a "Five-0"-inspired cocktail made at Tropics Bar & Grill at the Kahiko Hotel, aka The Hilton Hawaiian Village, one of the most popular filming locations for the series this season.

Tropics' bar:

The Hawaii 5-0

• 1.5 oz. Absolut Raspberri

• 1 oz. Blue Curacao

• 3 oz. Sweet Sour

Blend and pour into a glass with 2 oz. of Strawberry Puree in it; garnish with a pineapple wedge.

When the finale airs Monday between 9 and 10 p.m., Tropics will offer the “Hawaii Five-0” on special for $8; the virgin cocktail, “Book ‘Em Danno,” will be $6. Watch Tropics bartender Rocky Nago make the drink, below, and talk about the series and his long career at the Hilton.
